Are you thinking of becoming a Soul Doula® or Soul Midwife yourself (TLC counts towards entry to the school)?

Are you simply aware that dying is a natural part of life and would like some holistic skills to help loved ones, or even yourself, in the future on the journey to end of life?

If you've answered 'yes' to any of these this one day 'TLC' training day is for you.

What is TLC?

TLC is a practical-based offshoot of Soul Midwifery, and was originally designed by Felicity Warner to be delivered to caring communities. As the name suggests, our aim is to give tender loving care to people at the end of life.

Despite the spiritual support role we offer as Soul Midwives, this training day does not include any spiritual aspects.  We focus on simple yet powerful holistic and emotional support tools.

Our focus and intention is to teach people how important it is to offer LOVING PERSONALISATION on the journey.

Rachael was so passionate about the course subject, I found this to be very enlightening and we were able to speak openly about the subject of death. It’s still quite a taboo subject in our culture, which is a shame, but Rachael made it all so easy and actually enjoyable. Her knowledge was plentiful and personal to her, this helped to ease the training group, I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone for these reasons. I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to attend and will be forever grateful.”

Death is a subject that is often avoided in conversations. When my dad was diagnosed with cancer we were filled with so many questions and feelings that most of my friends were unable to understand. It was like a secret club, you only understand if you are one of the unfortunate ones to have lost someone close.

Rachael allowed both my dad and I to explore questions and have someone to ‘just be with.’ She gave us both support at the hardest times and I’m comforted by the fact that I can still talk to her now. She knows our story, she walked it with us. She knows that my heart is broken and how much we meant to each other.  For my Dad she gave him time and comfort. She gives me strength and I’m truly grateful. Thank you xxx

I looked after my dad as he left our world. It was the course that I did with you earlier this year that really gave me the strength and practical skills to be able to do this. Thank you so much. Sending so much love and gratitude to you Rachael x”

About your trainer

Hello.png

I have been volunteering at my local hospice as a Ward Assistant since January 2013.  In 2017, I qualified as a professional Soul Midwife.  Since then, I continued my studies to become qualified at level 2 and in TLC training.  In 2019 my role at the Hospice became an official Soul Midwife on the spiritual care team.  In 2022 I created my own certified & accredited end of life training programme to activate powerful Soul Doulas.  The programme is for deep personal transformation, to use the skills for your own family, loved ones or community and/or become a professional end of life practitioner (Please contact me to enquire about the Soul Doula programme).

You can hear about my full journey into this work in the following video just below and why I’m so passionate about TLC training.

I love teaching the life-changing TLC course.  Not only does it empower people to support the dying deeper (personally or professionally), it can change the way we live our lives and enrich the journey of our dying ‘friends’.

I hope you’ll join me on a mission to enhance end of life care for all.

“This was one of the most interesting and meaningful courses that I have ever taken. It was absolutely outstanding. I shall use all the knowledge I gained yesterday through my work and on a personal basis. I have taken a lot from this course things that I will put into practice at the home to ensure that we make the person involved feel, loved, listened to, comfortable and most importantly as involved as much as they want.  I would recommend this to all care staff it is something I am looking at for our staff.”

Testimonials

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being asked by Public Health England to teach TLC to local care homes.  Here is what they have to say about the training:

"This one day course offers an excellent opportunity to reflect on the final journey of life and on how we can care for the dying to help them to die in comfort and at peace. It will also support carers to help the families to be in a place of peace with their loved one. For a zoom format- it was excellent and presenter skills were so engaging that even for such a sensitive subject I didn’t feel that we lost out through the medium used”

ANNE HORDER

Lead for Palliative Care, End of Life and Bereavement, Public Health

“I have had a few courses on dying, death, bereavement and end of life.  This course is by far the best.  I took in and learnt a lot more.  It was very interesting.”

TLC has been recognised in the Gold Standard Framework for care homes in the UK.

In 2019 it was implemented by Dorset NHS, where it is being offered to all End of Life patients within the county’s community hospitals.

In 2017 The National Council for Palliative Care praised our TLC Compassionate Community Project for the “quality of the love it gave to the dying”.
