Why I Yoga and
For many years I was advised by healthcare professionals to avoid yoga due to my complicated spinal condition. Whilst yoga is amazing for most people with back pain, for me personally, I was advised against it. For many years I followed the advice, but still ended up having major spinal surgery.
A few years post surgery I followed my gut and attended a yoga retreat (talk about going for it!) I would never advise going against medical advice - if that advice is also accurate of course. Due to the lack of teachings around the roots of yoga in the West, the advice I was given was not accurate! During the retreat I discovered that, yoga is about LISTENING to your body and adapting movement accordingly, along with using the breath to heal, move and calm the mind.
It’s not about pushing or forcing yourself through pain.
As an ex-athlete I was used to pushing my body through pain barriers. Yoga is NOT that practice and no one ever told me. Whilst I acknowledge the doctors were completely right to advise me to avoid yoga as we see it on the surface (I know there are many yoga practices my body does not like), what I, nor the medical profession understood, is that yoga really is for all!
I had no clue just how many types of yoga practices there are out there. So it turns out, not only did I end up becoming a dedicated yogi (yoga is also about how you live off the mat) I am now a teacher!

Yoga originated from ancient India and has a deep spiritual connection to it. It’s a moving mediation that opens you up to yourself.
It has a deep healing element to it through its connection to the breath and balance of the mind, body & soul.
In the ancient language of Sanskrit, yoga means ‘union’.
Yoga for Healing
After exploring the roots of yoga and different types of practices, I discovered that yoga plays a big part on a healing path. My own conditions improved after discovering the truth about yoga as a self care tool. The movement and poses (asanas) are simply a useful gateway to the deeper layer of what yoga is and does.
I teach yoga from its ancient roots as a psycho-spiritual experience. I aim to empower and teach people from all different backgrounds the benefits of practice for their personal needs.

Zen Yoga is a slow and lyrical form of gentle movement. We combined the meditative movement of yoga with ancient Zen philosophies, mantras, and meditation.
*Suitable for most people. Not recommended for complete beginners or anyone unable to physically move from seated to standing.*

Private 121 Sessions
I offer private yoga at my personal studio or from the comfort of your own home (via Zoom). Each session is an hour long and costs £50.
I also offer a block booking voucher of 6 sessions for £250! That’s a saving of over £9 per individual session.
Both options include a free 30min consultation before we start any yoga to identify your needs and set the intention during our time together.
